Addi's first bath..........Pictures!

O.K. so most moms will have that camera out and ready the first time they give their new little one a bath. The first bath Addi had came after a completely massive blowout at about a week old. She wasn't even supposed to have a "bath" yet because her cord hadn't fallen off yet. A light sponging is what's recommended. Her first bath was a hose down in the bathroom sink, which she did not care for at all. All subsequent baths I have thought "I really need to get my camera out and take some pictures of giving her a bath". Five and half months later I actually acted on that thought. So here they are, the first pictures of Addi's bath, not to be confused as pictures of Addi's first bath!(thank goodness!)

Change of Plan

So just a few hours after my last post( let's see- posted at 9:30, woke up at 12:30) Rustin woke up doubled over in pain and about to throw-up. He was hurting on one side of his lower back, so we figured it was something kidney related. The pain just kept getting worse and worse, so we finally called Rus's dad to take him to the hospital. Turns out he has kidney stones, which, we have been told, is EXTREMELY painful. Rus would have to agree with that. Needless to say, High Adventure camp went out the window, and has been replaced with many MRI's and doctor visits. At today's visit they determined that the stone is stuck and not making it's way to the bladder as it should be. Hence, he get's to go in monday and have them blasted away!! Hopefully he a brand new man after that. So, what I thought was going to be a husbandless weekend has turned into something totally different. I have still been doing all those things that I mentioned, but I get to crawl into bed at night with my hubby by my side. Love it.

Obstacles

kings peak
Well, the countdown is on. My husband is leaving for high adventure camp in T-minus 8 1/2 hours(but who's counting??). I guess you could say that he checked out about 6:30 tonight because that's when the YM showed up to drop gear off/finish an eagle project/unload work chores on Dan(at his house) ect, ect, ect. I'm sure I won't be seeing him again this evening. I should probably mention that High Adventure camp is a 50 mile hike up kings peak (the hard way) which they will accomplish Wednesday through Saturday. Let's hope. Surprisingly, I am not feeling too bad about being left to fend for myself and my four kids. We have so many things going on to keep us occupied, I don't think we will have the downtime to get super bored. Between early intervention classes for Gavin and I, Camping with my family, The parade that my kids and I get to walk in(super cool), and birthday parties, how could we get bored. I think every minute he is gone we have something to do. My only fear is that the moment he walks through the door I am going to drop dead from exhaustion from doing it all. BUT, I would rather be busy, than not. So, here's to an adventursome next few days!

Memorables missed

So, if you ever look at my blog, you know that I am not the best at updating it. I think I average about once a month, which, hey, that's better than nothing, right. Well, since the birth of my wonderful little Addi, I have neglected to post about some pretty post worthy stuff. Firstly, March 10, 2009 was Rus and I's ninth wedding anniversary. I can't believe how fast time has gone and how much has happened. Happy anniversary Baby, I love ya!! Since it was a mere five days after having Addi, and just two days after coming home from the hospital, we played it pretty low key. The 3 boys got to go to Aunt Emily's to play and we got Chinese takeout from Mountain city (our fav place). It was great to sit in our kitchen and just converse amongst ourselves for a whole hour and a half. Definitely memorable. Second, Gavin had his second birthday on April 10, 2009. Happy birthday Gavin!!! We were in St. George over his birthday and had a wonderful time in the sunny warm weather!! As you can see, we got him one of those little cars, and he absolutely loves it! Aside from him tripping and falling nose first into a boulder and having his hand shut in the garage door, it was a pretty great day!! So here are just a few of the reasons I love my little munch man: 1) He has the best smile! 2) He loves to hold my hand-none of my other kids did. I LOVE that. 3) I think it is so sweet how much he loves his monkey and his blankie! Monkey gets tucked in every night with him. 4) He has vibrant personality! Always cheerful and full of life! 5) He loves his brothers and espescially his new baby sister! He loves to pet her and get her binkie and blankets. 6) He loves to cuddle and have hugs!

Addison Marre' Randall

I am so glad to announce that our little peanut has finally arrived! Addison (we call her Addi) Marre' Randall was born on March 5, 2009 at 9:21 p.m. She weighed 7 lbs. 2 oz. and was 19 1/2 inches long! I was in labor for about an hour and twenty minutes, so I am amazed that I can tell you that she was actually born in the hospital, with drugs and by my very own doctor ( he is Rustin's Uncle, and he WAS NOT on call). The story goes as follows: On the morning of March 5, I headed into the doctor to be checked. I was at a 4 and 70% the week before, so I was surprised I had not gone into labor yet, and was hoping he would just send me down to labor and delivery to get things started( I was 2 days away from 39 weeks). Unfortunately, when he checked me, nothing had changed. He did strip my membranes, though (not pleasant), and I went home. Luckily had had a lunch date to cheer me up. Around 5 I started having some contractions, but nothing consistent, and not really that strong. They kind of came and went for a while, then went away. Right around 8 they came back and were real. On the second one I told Rus we needed to call my mom to come. We had my neighbor (thanks!) come and stay with the kids till my mom got there, and we high tailed it to the hospital. By the time we got there, I was dying!! They checked me and I was already a 10 and I just about cried. I thought "no drugs and no doctor". Luckily they got the medicine man right in and got Kimball(doctor) on the phone. When Kimball got there, he literally ran in the room out of breathe and said he sped the whole way. They waited a few more minutes until my epidural kicked in a little more (yes, I said more not all the way!) and then after a few pushes she was here!! She was wonderful and funny. She cried none stop until the second I fed her, and has been a ferocious eater ever since! She is such a good, sweet baby! The boys love to hold her (Gavin pets her) and each one is extremely sweet to her. Gavin loves to wave at her and say "Hi" every time he sees her! We have truly been blessed by her presence!

FHE Excitement!

So I just wanted to bring your attention to a new blog that I have posted down toward the bottom of my page. It is a FHE idea blog for families with kids from 0-5 and it is awesome. I came across it last night as I was looking for some help online for FHE (didn't happen Monday because a good friend ended up dropping in). I consider the find a answer to my prayers. Sunday was our Stake conference, and due to Brigham's recent health issues, I got to go by myself and soak up every last word without one interruption. They stressed missionary work and the family. I came out feeling like I needed to really make family prayer, temple attendance, FHE, and scriptures more of a priority in our home. Not that they aren't already, but they could definitely be bumped up a notch or two. That brings me to my wonderful find of this FHE blog. They are simple, yet fun, and there are lots of different topics to choose from. The best part is there isn't major prep involved (usually my downfall), so it is easy to put together. I am excited to use it in the coming weeks! Hope it can help some of you out!
