Caleb's Birthday

I just realized I never posted about Caleb's Third birthday! How could I forget such a wonderful occasion. He turned three on Dec. 17. He woke up early and we made him his favorite birthday breakfast, pancakes, and gave him his presents. He got a dinosaur that walks and roars, and lightning McQueen snowboots. He loved it. He spent the day having friends over to play, and then went to Jungle Jim's for some rides and pizza with Grandma and Grandpa B and Aunt Andrea and Uncle Kenerd. He opened up his gift the minute we walked in the door, and then didn't want to go on any of the rides. Finally we got him warmed up enough to go on a few. It was a good time. We went to Grandma and Grandpa's house for cake and ice cream after.

Christmas, New Years, ect.

Christmas fun! Caleb got a new scooter and a helmet for Christmas! Gavin Loooooves baths!First bath together! Brigham's first time wearing a Tie to chruch!
It has been a while since I posted last. Sorry for that. These are just some random pictures from the holidays. Christmas came and went so fast! It's amazing we are already a week into 2008. As always, christmas was quite the event for our family! It almost always ends up being a sick day for someone, and this year it was pretty much everybody. Caleb started throwing up mid present opening, Rus started mid afternoon, and Brigham and Gavin seemed to go back and forth the rest of the week. Needless to say, we had a very mellow week and really didn't go anywhere. It was a nice change of pace from our usual( we are not homebodies). Rus was around quite a bit more than usual as well, due to a huge job that didn't start. It has been nice. New year's was great. We spend the day at home getting the house in order from the holiday (school started the next day), sledding and snowball fight, then went to my (Laura) Uncle's house in Farmington for a get together with my grandma and aunts, uncles and cousins. It was good food, good company and extremely relaxing. Couldn't ask for anything more!! Now we are just getting back to the daily grind and gearing up for surgery #3 for Gavin. Just under two weeks now. I am glad it is almost here. He has had ear infections since Thanksgiving and we have been waiting for this surgery for them to put tubes in. In the last week he has been totally miserable, so I got him on more antibiotic. It will be great to get a nice long break after this. I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas season. A highlight that I need to mention was the card we got from a Family from Rustin's misssion, The Peiler's. He has looked for them everytime we have gone to California, and always came up empty. He was so happy when he got the card, and excited to call them and talk the them on the phone!! I think that was his best Christmas present!!

My Little Girl!!???

Here it is! If I am lucky enough to ever be blessed with a little girl, I would want her to look just like this! We were playing around last night with a piece of ribbon, when, to be funny, I tied it around Gavin's head. My heart was instantly aching for the little girl I've never had! Rus and I both agreed, Gavin can totally pass for a girl. I'm sure we won't be putting bows on him again any time soon (for Rus's sake). Still, I can just picture my blue eyed little girl!! Ohhhhhh, maybe one day!!:)

Temple Square

Last week we ventured downtown to see the lights. It was the last night before the giant storm, so a warm front was coming through, and we figured it was the perfect chance. It just so hppened that we went on a wednesday night and caught all of the YM/YW groups. Crazy teenagers running everywhere, but it was still way fun. The boys ooohed and aaahhed at the lights, and enjoyed the various manger scenes. We went under the red tree ( i hope you all know what I'm talking about!) and looked up into the beautiful sea of red stars!! Brigham wanted to touch the doors of the temple, also. We topped off the evening with a carriage ride!! Brigham and Caleb were in heaven. At one point the horse went to the bathroom in the street (#1) and the boys laughed about it almost the entire rest of the night. After that we went in to see the Christus. The spirit is always so strong there. It brings such an amazing sense of peace. When we got ready to go, I picked up Caleb and walked to the front of the statue and asked if he knew who it was. He said it was Jesus and he lost his baby! He said Jesus was looking for it. (the outstretched arms I'm guessing??) How cute! The mind of a 3 year old. It was a wonderful evening! A great way to get in the christmas spirit!

VOID

I've been seriously contemplating lately whether anyone ever reads my blog?! I'm (semi) positive that people are. It is weird how I write things and send them out there, not really ever knowing if it is really reaching anyone at all. I know I'm not great at posting. Maybe that is my down fall. I'm sounding depressing, and in my defense, I'm about to fall asleep. But really, are my words just really going out into a giant void??

ST GEORGE PICTURES

Going 4-wheeling: Abbie, Emily, & Laura Caleb, Brigham & Camille Brigham & Camille riding bikes at condo Mom & babe, enjoying a sunny day Riding down the hill on a Golf bag that was found while hunting for golf balls!

ST GEORGE

After a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner with my family, we hopped in our car and drove down to St. George to enjoy the rest of the Holiday weekend. It was wonderful! The weather was nice, not too warm, but not too cold. Rustin's sister Michelle and her family came down as well. We had a great time just relaxing at the condo, getting some 4-wheeling, biking, and swimming in, and of course, continuall snacking! I really need to do something exercise wise, but I will wait until after christmas. What's the point!! The highlight of the trip was definitely riding the golf bag down the hill in back of the condo. The golf bag was the surprise find of the golf ball hunt, and will forever be the new sled for the condo! We came home to cold weather, a couple inches of snow, and an honery Baby. Seems he's got ear infections in both ears! Besides that, Gavin is finally sitting up for good now! no more teetering every now and then. It is fun to see him coming along. Here are some pictures from right before Thanksgiving.
