MEMORIES!!!

Here is a fun little game... Leave a comment on my blog of a memory that you and I have had together. It doesn't matter if you've known me for a short time, or a long time, anything you remember! Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty funny to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you. On your mark...get set...blog your memories!!

New Stroller!

So this is my new stroller!! It is a Joovy ultralight caboose. I am so excited because this will take the place of two of my old junker strollers, the single and the double. Rus and I have been thinking about getting one for a while, but Disneyland and a walk where the wheel fell off(about 1/2 a mile from home, that was fun) convinced us of our need for something. I love this stroller so much, I wish that I would have bought it right from the get go. The nice thing is that it holds a carseat, Caleb can just hop in and out at his leisure, and its not as big and bulky as a double. The only drawback is that the basket underneath is not a big. I recommend this to everyone who has more than one child.

Posting.......

I know I haven't posted anything in a while and I am truly sorry to those who do keep checking hoping for some view other than me beautifully resting (thank you sweet husband). To be perfectly honest I have no desire whatsoever to be doing anything of the sort. Every time I am on the computer it is the very last thing that I even want to begin to take the time to do. I have to admit as well that I can not come up with any real exciting new news to share, either. One thing that I could tell, though, is that I signed up for a sprint triathlon. I am excited about doing it, but am finding it challenging to train three different ways just for one race. It is at the end of August, and I am doing it with my neighbor. I have always wanted to do one, and have heard you can get quite hooked once you do, so here's hoping. Also, I just have to add that I saw the movie Penelope tonight and loved it.

My Sleeping Princess!!

This is the picture that sums up our trip to France and Germany. hahaha!
Love, Rustin

Gluckstedt

We went to Gluckstedt for the day and had one of the YSA, Nickoli, from the institute show us around. It was a BEAUTIFUL little town! My most favorite part of the day was walking along a grass dyke surrounded by sheep. It made me feel like I was walking around in the 1920's. Very cool. The most unusual part of the day was lunch. We went to a chinese restaruant. It was so funny to be in Germany at a chinese restaraunt with chinese waitresses who were talking to you in German. It seemed very wrong. We did have fun meeting up with Nickoli's sister for lunch. We got some great sightseeing and shopping in, and finished it all off by playing at a park. Thanks Nickoli!

German Food at it's worst and best!

I don't know about some of the stuff that people are eating over there. For instance, check this sandwich out. Yeah, you guessed it, cut a fish in half and plop it in between two pieces of bread and waalah, you have a sandwich!! It was so gross, I had to take a picture. Another lovely(no pic) was the RAW(not exaggerating at all!!) hamburger that was also shoved into the middle of a bun. I don't know how those people are still alive. On the flip side, their pastries are to die for (just watch out for the alcohol); Marzipan, need I say more; if you have never tried a Durner, you need to; they make a mean hot dog with pickles and fried onions, and I can proudly say I have tried schnitzel!! hehehe!

Germany

After visiting Taylor and Janet in France, we flew up to Hamburg, Germany to visit Rustin's parents who are there serving an LDS mission. We enjoyed our stay thoroughly!! We visited the Harbor, hung out at the institute, met some great missionaries, visited some great little towns( one where Reed served his mission 48 years ago), enjoyed many bakery stops, climbed a church tower(400 steps) and got a little shopping in. The highlight of our purchases was a running bike for Caleb. All of the little kids in Germany were riding them, so we got one too. Caleb loves it, and is so good on it, that I think he could ride a two wheeler now. It got Brigham's training wheels off in 1 week. We had a wonderful time in Germany!! Thank you Reed and Marilyn!! P.S. the car at the bottom is how I plan to become more fuel efficient! AWESOME!!
